All Hallow's Eve

31 October 2013

So... I kinda hate Halloween.
I know, I know, I'm the worst human ever and probably just had a bad experience.
Well you're right.
I did.

One year, me and some Channing girls went trick-or-treating, where I decided to be a pink cowgirl -it was the Elle Woods pink beret stage that we're not talking about- and I wore my first pair of heels... (insert scoffs and scorns here). I felt as though we walked forever in search of free sweets from moody, tired residents of London, and THEN we got chased by a gang of boys who threw eggs at us. WHY is that fun?!

Anyway, as this is my last Halloween Stateside, I decided to get into the spirit of things, by being Captain America. (Get it?? Get it??). I actually had a great time with my girls as we hit up a dance party and got crunk.
Not really but there was dancing. Lots of it.

Alls I'm saying is, bring on the Christmas cheer.
Christmas should start in September.

It really should.

iPhone update on some recent-(ish) festivities:

There were fires

 And dance parties

There was a trip to Salt Lake

Featuring my future home Restoration Hardware

There've been human pyramids

And best friends

And hot chocolate library selfies. Obviously.

Autumn.

Do you know who we haven't celebrated in a while and deserves our congratulations?

The sky.

Unbeknownst to some, the little land of Rexburg usually starts to CHUCK it down with snow around mid October. At least a few times. There has been nada. Not a drop of sticky snow and for that I don't think we have truly shown our appreciation. Seriously. The next 7 months to come will be solely filled with white sludgy, slick, powdery frozen precipitation, and unbearable cold.

So, let's hear it for the sky, for keeping it in for just that little bit longer.

Part of my amazing weekend that I will divulge on later, was the fact that I got to meet the most perfect boy on the planet!!

Luke Walker and I met in 2010 in England where we both found out that we were moving to Idaho to attend the same university. We ran into each other at the Visa place where we got the four hundred pound sticker that meant we could live here. Needless to say that if anyone has experienced the America journey with me, it's Luke.
He's seriously like a brother to me, and I was fortunate enough to watch him charm his way into the life of his gorgeous wife, Rachel, and now have the most wonderful baby boy in the world!!

Luke and I freshman year!!

And now look!!

Don't worry this is just my face when I'm holding babies.

Ahhh.

Words

16 October 2013

This past weekend was General Conference weekend which for me means that I get to hear from leaders and teachers from my Church and especially hear the words of who we believe to be the prophet.
I'm not going to get all crazy on you, I promise, but I do want you to understand that these words are for everyone.
They are full of messages of hope and love that we believe were inspired of God.

I just feel peace knowing that I am still guided and protected by my Heavenly Father.

Paige put together a little group date for our apartment tonight and it was too fun to go undocumented!! We decided to get all 90s and throw it all the way back. Yes... we went there again. But so so worth the $8 I spent at the DI for a denim fur lined jacket that I transformed into a vest.

swaggy.
