Ode to Justin

29 August 2013

Ok. I know we should all be over it by now, but I just want to say a few things.

I'm not really a big fan of music awards, especially because I think that a lot of music nowadays really isn't worth calling music.

However this year was probably one of the most talked about performances of all time.

I'm not talking about the gyrating 12 year old. No.

I'm talking about this man.

Really. This picture is enough, but in case you need more proof.

First he was all

And then he was like "this stage is too big"

And then I died.
But not really cos I had to see them do this

And this

And then I was in a state of pure and utter joy.

So, even though all hope may seem lost, we'll always have 90s boyband reunions.
Always.

I'm done.

Wait.

Ok. I'm done.

Let Freedom Ring

28 August 2013

I'M DONE, I'M DONE, I'M DONE

Ok I've literally been studying non-stop since September of last year, and I now have a summer.
For like three weeks people.
Excited

More importantly, today marked the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King's Freedom speech and the march on Washington DC. Without that action I wouldn't have been able to go to BYU-Idaho. That is a fact. So for his courage and inspired actions, I am eternally grateful.

Of course freedom from studies is not the same as freedom from oppression, but sometimes it feels like it. Basically, if you live in London let's hang out.

That's right.

So Close

25 August 2013

Here we are with yet another Shameless Library Selfie

This time encorporating the fact that I BRAVELY wore red lipstick today. OUTSIDE of the house. literally. shocking, because I have a fear of lipstick. I'll explain it some other time....

But I'm so so close to being done with this madness, my friends! I am brimming with excitement to be free to do what I want, but today I just need to go ALL out and bust out these practice tests!

2 DAYS MORE.

#throwbackmonday

19 August 2013

#memorylanemonday?
I dunno.

So before I headed to the City Business/Gulidhall Library this morning (which is my absolute favorite by far), mum and I stumbled across some old pictures and had quite a giggle looking through them.

So ladies and gents, here's a little history tour for you.

We should probably begin with my darling mother. Who grew from the most adorable baby into a hottie.

Seriously that eighties bejeweled blazer is getting it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then I came along.... and here are some pictures taken the day I got out of the OR after my surgery

You can barely see me under all of those tubes!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now we enter what I like to call the Frog Phase.
There I am on my first birthday. Literally looking like a frog. BUT. You know I was the cutest frog-like baby you ever saw.

You also wish you had a plaid/denim quilted hat like I did.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now we enter the height of the Chunky Years with a picture of me on the day I got baptised. All you Lea Vallians will recognize this guy...

Chunky Years continued.... at my aunt's wedding... CLEARLY wanting a piece of the cake.

Temple trip with some more Lea Valley classics.

And this was my first trip to America!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And just when you thought that pink beret couldn't have gotten any worse, here's another one from my Year 8 trip to France. Apparently LL Cool J wasn't the only one with a plethora of Kangol hats.

Seriously. Who sold this to me.

Five Really Easy Steps to becoming a N.E.R.D.- International Edition

14 August 2013

In this edition I would like to address the traveller's selfie issue. For those of us out there who do not have a husband/boyfriend/personal photographer to run around taking pictures of us as we run around cities looking great, documentation can be tough.
Thus we resort to the awkward public selfie.
On the streets of London people don't generally like you anyway, so taking selfies makes it worse. However, there are ways to be stealthy and successful.
Please observe the following steps.

Reach in your oversized bag for your phone.

Slyly act as though you're texting someone; thus bringing the phone relatively close to your face.

You were fortunate enough to get a window seat on the upper deck of the bus. Try out one of those wistful stares out the window.

That one was too dark. Do it again.

And again in the other direction.

One more time because that angle made your face look fat.

Give up fool. Bus Selfies are lame.

When In Rome... Go To The Library

13 August 2013

Sorry for the silence since I have arrived back in the Motherland! It's been amazing though, catching up with some friends, but most of all seeing family that I haven't seen for over a year!! It's seriously great!!
So what am I doing with my new found freedom from the joys of uni in America?
Studying.
Studying a lot.
I have some pretty life determining exams coming up at the end of the month which means that all of my escapades have been suspended until the 29th of August. I promise, after that I will be as fun and carefree as I always am ha! Meanwhile I decided that if I have to be resigned to the confines of a library, it will be a library right in the middle of London that allows me to walk around and explore a teeny bit. So here I am sat in the St. Pancras Library. I went to the British Library, but I needed a pass and blah blah blah, so I'm just across the road in a little chair by a window-watching London pass me by.
With this guy.

Wish me luck!!

This is the view from my window... not too shabby eh?

More posts about traveling and London and general life to come!!

The Morgans

05 August 2013

Here are some amateur iPhone pictures from the wedding of the year.
I was literally a ball of tears the whole day, but it was absolutely wonderful and perfect.
Nothing but love

Warning: As a blogger I probably should have taken cool angle shots of the temple, and candid pictures of friends and family running around. I should have taken pictures of children laughing and dancing at the reception and maybe some artistic pictures of the food. As a best friend, I pretty much only took selfies of me and Krysta. #sorryimnotsorry

The groom and I. Best Friends Forever

Oh. Here's one of the cake

and here they are dancing and in love

and here is a picture of the flags outside that represent me and Krysta.

But let's be real. Here's another one of me and Krysta.
