Nothing like a roadside kebab...

28 February 2014

We had a mini Hen night for the lovely Sophie!! She's getting married on March 14th in Salt Lake and so a few of her British friends got together for some fun before the big day!
Here's me and Sophie's story. She is half English, and in 2010, she lived in London for a few months. We went to institute, dances, all kinds of YSA stuff- but never really officially met. THEN through a mutual friend we realised that we were both at BYU-Idaho. Living in the same halls. In the same ward. Needless to say we've been friends ever since! She moved back to London and met her fiance and I am so so excited for her!

We went to the Karaoke Box in Mayfair and had such a blast! They literally have every song ever written and we threw it DOWN. That place was lots of fun and also quite cheap so it's definitely recommended for a good night out. After that a few of us went to grab some kebabs on Edgeware Rd. (classy), then we just hung out with Sophie.

It was a great night and I wish her all the best!!

Always. Always a classic.

This next picture is blurry on  account of my rollin' on the river.

Mickey's. Freaking good.

Wayals

27 February 2014

That's how Welsh people say Wales. Ok it isn't, and maybe that was mean- but don't take it that way because I LOVE the Welsh accent.
Ask anyone.
But Friday brought my very first trip across the border to Wales! Martha (being the total trooper she is) drove me, Nicole and Becky down to the dance, and we made it in pretty good time.
It's been a while since we'd raved it up at a good dance and so it was good being reunited with such good friends that I haven't seen in nearly four years!

DISCLAIMER: It was a UV dance. Which means it was dark. Which means that you can see my teeth and t-shirt. That's it.

Look who made it home from his mission alive!

Don't worry there were plenty of pictures of me and Martha

iPhone update on some recent(ish) activities

It really isn't half term without a trip to the Disney store. Really.
Also my alter-ego Doc McStuffins lives in there. And they play the Frozen soundtrack.
winwin.

We also saw Mr. Peabody and Sherman. I almost ALWAYS find myself on the parent's side during kids movies these days. #suchamum

My friend Katie had her baby shower!! It was so much fun! I mostly have selfies of Chloe and Ella to show for it, but it was a really good night nonetheless and we are excited for the arrival of Baby Tulip!

I took this picture at Piccadilly Circus because the sun was setting and it just love my city.

Something New

19 February 2014

I had lobster for the first time ever!!
Ari took me out to the oh-so fancy Villandry cafe, and it was delicious!
Lobster was good. Honestly not life-changing for me personally- but here's to me being more risky?

p.s. we watched a tonne.. A TONNE of Hart of Dixie!! It's a show about a doctor from New York and starts out like one of those cute shows and before you know it you're eating ice-cream and watching the 300th episode at 2 am. I'm not mad about it though.

Tour Guide Barbie

16 February 2014

So one of my favorite people from BYUI took a family trip to London this month! This meant that I got to show off my skills in being a tour guide! We had such an amazing time, and one of my favorite things about showing other people around, is getting to rediscover the city myself.

I hope that Michelle and her family had as much fun as I did walking around this perfect city of mine.

We started the day off with a double rainbow. You can't go wrong with one of them can you.

Her first Wagamama experience. Scrummmmyy.

We literally hit up about 12 of these. I wanted everything.

Maybe I accidentally took Michelle to Primark. Maybe we were there for two hours. Maybe her brother hated me for it.

But overall such an amazing day and so so good to spend with Michelle and her family!!

Happy.

14 February 2014

Ok well, without even the slightest hint of an exaggeration, today was quite literally the greatest day of my life.
Today is Valentines Day and despite the fact that I celebrated it by spending most of the day caring for a shaky 6 year old and watching Disney Jr, I felt love more immensely than I ever thought possible.

It's not everyday that you literally read nine words that mean that all of your hopes and dreams have come true. But today was that day for me.

I have spent 18 years of my life knowing- KNOWING- exactly what I wanted. I have always wanted to be the best person I could be, have a family, and pursue a career in medicine. Those three things. In that order. Throughout life there are things that introduce doubt, fear and feelings of inadequacy and these feelings can stop you from achieving the things in life that you want the most- but with a lot of support from some of the best people, and unwavering faith in the Lord, you can literally do anything. Even the three little things on your life list that you wrote when you were four.

My entire life is proof of that.

Today is the day that I saw that proof on a screen- in those nine words.

Item number three on the list seems to be in motion, friends! I don't mean to be all weird and cryptic, but I feel that if I just blurt stuff out, it won't happen.

It all started right here.

And I'm excited for all the adventures that await me in the lovely Northern city of Leeds.

Today I'm happy.

Love Month

07 February 2014

Ahhh London doesn't seem to be very good for my blog life for some reason!
I think because as mentioned before, I've been trying to get things in order, and I've actually been playing mama a lot lately.
I have a new found appreciation and respect for the ladies that do the school run EVERY DAY.
Seriously. That's a lot of traveling and running around the city- getting two kids to different schools in different places in a tiny time window.
But it's been fun.
A lot of parents give me the "Poor girl has two kids at the age of 17 look" (Curse my baby-ish face) but we always have fun adventures on the way home.

That, however doesn't take away from the fact that this is LOVE MONTH!!! One of the best months of the year, because despite the wretched weather, people are in the mood to make other people happy. It is the month of service and love, and the general aim is to please someone else.
What a great season to be in.

Over the past few years, this month has always been a reminder of singledom- but this year it's just a reminder of how happy I am with my life and the way that it's going!

Single or not, I've always LOVED Valentine's Day. It's mostly consisted of a lot of baking with friends and I can't wait to spend it with the people I love the most this year!!!
